Erick is currently working with National Institute for Medical Research Tanzania (NIMR) in the department of Data Management and Statistics. His role cuts across different diseases such as Malaria, HIV, TB and Non-communicable diseases and he has published in these areas. His career goal is to assume a role which allows him to take responsibility for the big data analysis generated from genomics using the knowledge of Bioinformatics and advancement in Technology such as GIS and spatial analysis in diseases monitoring and prevention. He has also worked with Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) as assistant Data manager and Mwanza Intervention Trial Unit (MITU) as Data manager. As well as obtaining a BA in Statistics from the University of Dar es salaam in Tanzania, Mr Mgina also has a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of London and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Tsinghua in Beijing.
